Cascade Nachos, Part II
January 24th, 2009Today I took a chance and re-visited my first nacho quest of the season and was pleasantly surprised. Cascade is located slopeslide in the Teton Mountain Lodge at Jackson Hole. My first experience of the ski season brought a little disappointment, (we paid $18 and left unsatisfied!) however word spread of my table’s disappointment, and Cascade offered to step up their game.
The second time around, the plate(s) showed up overflowing with nacho chips stacked high on the plated and layered with cheese and decorated beautifully with lots of salsa, sour cream and guacomole. One massive plate of nachos at Cascade could easily feed an entire starving nation! I would have to say that the additional $3 for guacamole was less than ideal, and that some of the chips at the end were a bit soggy….but we definitely cleared our plates.
Although the nachos were on the expensive side ($18 w/guac) there were two beer specials for Jackson Hole passholders: $2 PBR bottles and $3 drafts. Nothing better to wash down your nachos than a great bottle o’ suds. Overall, I’d have to say that Cascade regained their nacho standing in my book, and until I have found the ‘perfect nacho’ I will continue to visit Cascade for my Teton Village nacho fix!
According to the RateSkiAreas.Com rating system, I gave the nachos at Cascade a 89/100. Some points were deducted because of the high price and slightly soggy chips at the end, however a much improved nacho plate has impressed me enough to want to go back for more!
Stay tuned for my next nacho rating….
