Winter Park to open Lower Hughes

November 26th, 2008
Winter Park Resort looks like it’s getting ready to open up some desperately needed new terrain for the Thanksgiving Day ski crowd.  With little cooperation from Mother Nature the snowmakers at Winter Park have been racing to get some additional runs open for the anticipated holiday ski crowd.  Lift lines have been jamming at the Arrow chair (vertical drop 630′) with waits as long as twenty minutes.   While the wait is not as bad at the Gemini (580′) and Endeavor (187′) chairlifts you can’t get access to the Larry Sale trail, the only blue run open at Winter Park.  With top to bottom skiing already underway at Winter Park’s sister resort Copper Mountain (2,600 vertical feet), the snowmaking crew at the Wank have some catching up to do.Let’s all pray for some serious snow!
