Lower Hughes opens Thanksgiving Day at Winter Park

The Lower Hughes race trail opens for the season on Thanksgiving Day at Winter Park Resort, Colorado
The much anticipated opening of the Lower Hughes race trail at Winter Park Resort took place on Thanksgiving Day, 2008. With the approaching NorAm ski competition, local and international ski racers participating in training camps were happy to get some laps in down the fast Lower Hughes slope at the base of Winter Park.
With a forecast for snow on Friday, locals hope for additional terrain openings for the upcoming weekend.
