3 inches of fresh snow at Copper Mountain Colorado, 11-28-09

Three inches of fresh snow greeted skiers in the shuttle bus parking lot at Copper Mountain Colorado on the day after Thanksgiving.  And snow continued to fall throughout the day and into the early evening heralding the true start of winter.  With the opening of the high speed Super Bee chairlift skiers could avoid the crowds at the Center Village of Copper Mountain and get all 2,600 vertical feet at the same time.  Snowmaking continued on Andy’s Encore as ski racers trained on the Copperopolis trail.  The best skiing was found on High Point and Scooter off of the American Flyer chair, while the first bumps of the season cropped up on Ptarmigan and Main Vein much to the chagrin of many on the crowded trails.  And Copper Mountain is the first ski area in Colorado to get its Super Pipe opened.

I highly recommend the new Pho soups at Lemon Grass in Jack’s Slope Side Grill especially the vegetarian tofu Pho soup.

We were also pleasantly surprised by the free windshield and headlight cleaning given out by the enthusiastic parking lot staff as we exited the free parking lot at the end of the day.  Two thumbs up to the Copper Mountain employees and management.  Way to go guys!

It all looks so beautiful! It reminds me back when I went to Breckenridge to ski a few years back.

Are these breck deals, like, actually deals? They look good, but I don't know as I've never been there, so far only Taos and some places back east. http://tinyurl.com/5ze5a3. And a there's a video report here: http://tinyurl.com/5ze5a3.
