Amherst-Bedford GHOST SKI HILL Historic/Ghost Area Resort (Are you this resort?)

From 1936 until the early 1970’s the Bragdon family ran a ski area on the Amherst-Bedford line. A single rope fashioned out of a 1930 Ford Model A carried skiers up the 200’ hill making it one of the earliest lift served ski areas in North America. In the mid 1970’s it became a popular spot for the new sport of hang gliding. There’s still pretty good sledding there.
