Idlewild Ski Area GHOST SKI HILL Historic/Ghost Area Resort (Are you this resort?)
Operation Dates: 1961 – 1986
Owned and operated by Dwight and Jean Miller of Tabernash, Colorado, Ski Idlewild was Grand Counties best hill for begining skiers.
On any given day the Miller family could be seen operating lifts, slinging burgers and shoveling snow off the deck at the base lodge.
The family friendly Base Lodge faced South and allowed the non-skiers a full view of the ski hill while baking in the sunshine.

Sadly, I never got to ski at this little hill in downtown Winter Park. I did get to snowshoe there this season, though, and the lift is still there after 24 years of closure! I noticed a few chairs were missing and I’m sure they can be found as porch swings around the Fraser Valley. It is still beautiful there with amazing 360 degree views.
