The lack of trail signage is exactly what I love in a ski area. JH is like a never ending terrain park. Patrol perfectly signed out any cliff areas, but trail signage is exactly that, trail signage. Patrol leaves all trees skiable provided no truly hazardous conditions exist and welcomes you to enjoy chutes, rocks, or any other terrain you wouldnt be invited to anywhere else in the US. Even in slightly poor conditions (no snow in 6 days), 99% of the mountain is open for exploration. JH also provides an unlimited backcountry for excursions if you so desire…ALTHOUGH, do not access the backcountry unless you know EXACTLY where you are going. It is super easy to find yourself upon the top of a 100 foot cliffband all over the place!

The lifts did seem to run pretty slow all week…even midweek (although slow lifts typically always result in no lift lines out west…which is nice when you go to load). Plusses and minuses, but it is nice to have the trail relatively to yourself.
