My visit to Lutsen was late in the season, so the snow wasn’t very good. With a good snowpack this could be a very fun resort. There are four mountains with one of the higher vertical rises in the midwest. It is easy to get lost with the way the mountain is oriented, and the trailmaps, through improved, can add to the confusion. The gondola is cool, and there is better apres-ski opportunities than many other ski areas in the midwest. The North Shore area of Minnesota/Lake Superior is very cool and definitely worth visting.
