The legend, this is it! This is the home of the Cult. A “single” chair? You gotta be kidding! Ski it if YOU can. One my favorite places to SKI. Paradise is Paradise. Skiing the Chute with all those people on the single giving you a hard time. I have had some of my best powder days at Mad River Glen (250 inches annual snowfall). Minimal grooming/snow making, it’s real old style skiing. 45 old school trails and 800 acres of tree skiing serviced by 3 double chairs in addition to the famous single chair (the last of its kind in North America). Mad River Glen has been skier owned since Betsy Pratt turned it into a co-op in the 1990’s. Stay at the Mad River Barn and do the milk run in the morning just don’t mess up in the lift line or you’ll hear it from the skiers behind you. I love the historic Base Box lodge, classic ski bar. And contrary to what you might have heard, snowboarders are welcome at Mad River Glen they just have to use skis… if they CAN.
Favorite runs; The Chute, Fall line, Antelope, Catamount and of course PARADISE!

If it doesn’t snow then you CAN’T ski it. So if it doesn’t snow at Mad River Glen then you’re better off going to nearby Sugarbush for the man-made stuff. And it can get crazily cold at Mad River Glen so bundle up.
