Mary Jane Ski Trail HISTORIC RUN Historic/Ghost Area Resort (Are you this resort?)

The Mary Jane Ski Trail was cut sometime between 1900 and upgraded by the Arlberg Club in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service in 1933.

Narrow, steep at the top, (running roughly where the top of the current “Drunken Frenchman” run now starts) and dumping out at the South end of the Winter Park Ski Area parking lot.

By the mid 1960’s the Mary Jane Trail was covered with fallen trees that, once covered with snow, made for a wild ride of jumps, ditches and general terror.

All who skied here miss it fondly and still have dents in their shins to prove they survived the adventure.
