Mary Jane Alpine/Downhill Resorts Resort (Are you this resort?)

The Mary Jane, or better known to her loyal fans as simply “The Jane”, is the sister ski hill to the Winter Park Resort. Completed in 1975, the genius of the Jane’s trail design came from Steve Bradley, the creator of modern slope grooming and inventor of the Bradley Packer.

This is interesting only because The Jane is known for her blistering bumps and tree skiing, not her groomed trails!

General Comments/Likes

The Outhouse Trees remain my favorite part of The Mary Jane. Accessable only from the top of Winter Park, they hold their snow long after the storm has passed…

Parking in the “C Lot” is great, but when the kids are with you, be aware of the raging party goin on from early morning to the end of the day. No brutal walking through a base village, simply lay down your gear, strap it on and let em run!

If you’re a bump skier, this place will make your knees bleed. Yes, there are groomed runs for a 50 Year Old “Wanna Be” like myself, but staying in the woods is where its at for me.

Dislikes

The bumps. I hate bumps! Sorry, but Jackson Hole’s Volkswagon sized, round, big ski moguls have spoiled me.
