Mary Jane Alpine/Downhill Resorts Resort (Are you this resort?)

The Mary Jane, or better known to her loyal fans as simply “The Jane”, is the sister ski hill to the Winter Park Resort. Completed in 1975, the genius of the Jane’s trail design came from Steve Bradley, the creator of modern slope grooming and inventor of the Bradley Packer.

This is interesting only because The Jane is known for her blistering bumps and tree skiing, not her groomed trails!

General Comments/Likes

The Mary Jane rocks. It has the best parking lot in all of skidom. The C-Lot regulars are die-hard bump skiers. This is the most dog friendly place that I’ve ever skied. I think the dogs are convinced that they make their owners take them there.
The Jane has the best lifties in the state. And the BEST end of season party is in the C-Lot and it’s all put together by the skiers, not the resort.
Some of the best tree skiing Colorado has to offer is at The Mary Jane. And you say you like bumps? This is the place, you’ll see some of the best mogul masters in North America on the Jane’s trails. More Rasta Huts than I can count and according to NOAA it’ll be the last snow on earth! There’s a good classic base lodge and no $%# damn plastic village to walk through!
Favorite runs? All of them! But especially; Trestle, Needle’s Eye, Hole-in-the-Wall, Super Gauge Express trail, Upper Arrowhead Loop, Drunken Frenchman, Outhouse, Stony Grove, Do-or-Die trees, Boiler, The Haul Brothers and most of all Topher’s Trees.

I wish they’d bring back Sushi Friday at the Mary Jane base and run the Iron Horse chair more often.
