Mount Agamenticus GHOST SKI HILL Historic/Ghost Area Resort (Are you this resort?)

Mount Agamenticus AKA The Big A operated from 1966 to 1974 when it fell victim to poor snowfall and the energy crisis. An upside down mountain, you drove up to the top and skied down to the lifts (1 Chair, 1 T-Bar and a rope-tow). 500 vertical feet and a view of the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the White Mountains to the west.

General Comments/Likes

The Big A, Mt. Agamenticus was a favorite of mine as a kid, there was something unique about an upside-down ski area, drive up to the summit and ski down to the base. I remember rummaging through the lost and found bin looking for some leather mittens when I realized that I had forgotten mine and I had a day of rope tow riding ahead of me. Plus the Mainers were all so friendly (and crazy)! The hot chocolate there tasted particularly good. Favorite trail Killiwump (or something like that)

Dislikes

Being so close to the coast you could get some serious boiler plate at Mount Agamenticus.
