General Comments/Likes
Blinding snow, 18" dump during day. Nice terrain off the JP chair. Day lodges/dining are very country-club. Expansive, not crowded. Lifts are luxe and fast. I would like to go back when I could get to the top of Mt. Allen, do the downhill, hit some of the chutes on top, and ski far skier’s left of the mountain (i.e. be there the day after when they reopen the terrain).
Despite my comments about Ogden, I did enjoy the UP Depot/Museum. Great collection of locomotives if you’re a train buff. I think there’s also a big indoor adventure facility (rock wall) if you need something to do apres ski.
Dislikes
Blinding snow, 18" dump during day. Heavyish, wet stuff. I got vertigo trying to feel my way down when I got off the Strawberry gondo. About 1/3 of the mountain was closed. Strawberry terrain below the gondola is flat. Much of the lower two-thirds of the place is flat, excepting under and to skier’s left of JP chair. Ogden valley very sleepy with few amenities. Ogden is 25 mins down the canyon and even the main tourist area (22nd? st.) has a seedy, methhead aspect to much of it. The city was disappointing.

Didn’t even bother going to Ogden. The lighting can be tough if the sun isn’t out.
