The KT-22 lift lives up to it’s billing as being one of the best chairs in america. Red Dog and Headwall express both give great access to steep chutes, drops and good snow. You have everything from bare, big wide headwalls to thin chutes to narrow tree runs. Even on a weekend after a big dump with big traffic from the bay, Squaw seemed to absorb the hoi polloi with ease, as my groups of three and four never waited more than five minutes for a lift, and average wait times were on the order of 1.5-3 min.

It’s a village – so it’s a drive to and from anywhere, but hey, with tahoe’s best, most varied terrain, it’s worth it.
