General Comments/Likes

Was up at Sunday River during a visit to Maine in the spring of ’04. So so so cold! But the snow was fantastic: a velvety combination of man-made and fresh snow that kind of felt like you were cutting into frosty ice-cream. Really great for the knees! Anyways, back to the mountain. With seven little peaks all interconnected, Sunday River hides people really well! And Sunday can shuttle you across the entire mountain to any particular point in only a few ski-to-the-next-chairlift combinations. A very well thought-out design as a whole. Plus snow making and grooming are second to none. And I feel the location is far enough up north and out of the way where the crowd levels should never be overwhelming.

Dislikes

Not much else up around Sunday River besides the mountain itself. If you’re a person looking for the “complete” ski resort experience, you won’t find it at Sunday. But if fabulous snow and a great ride are your primary drive, you’ll find it there like almost nowhere else in the East.
